Therefore, I'm curious if as somebody not only new to Gundam but new to anime in general, if there is a better starting point. I didn't realize until a bit ago that most of the later series are a different timeline that doesn't require watching the earlier series. Following that I guess the next step would be the Mobile Suit Zeta series and then just taking it chronologically after that. I figured I should start from the beginning so I looked up the original series and realized there was a recommended movie compilation trilogy. One series I've seen recommended quite often are various Mobile Suit Gundam series. Seeing all the excitement of Ghost in the Shell in recent months, along with browsing some interesting looking shows on Netflix/Hulu have made me interested in checking out some anime. I've watched a few episodes here and there, but otherwise I haven't ever been into anime.
